lyrics

He's white like you and sure condemns the piglets unheard at night
So if his hat can shade you from the unsung truth, you laud him loud
And if he fails and dies, like Jesus he can rise to stun the crowd

And you believe them as they say you're soon to be a failure deep
And that it's okay for as long he's there to sing your soul to sleep
He tells about how you can't lose if someone's there to see you weep

There is a truth, and then it's yours and then it's mine alright
But when we try to tell it, we know it's not really right
And everytime I try, you shudder and withdraw in fright
You shun the light

He's very clear on telling how the lights have not been on for years
He guards the lambs in growing up only to raise their low-life fears
so that his lines can endure all throughout their wine induced night tears

There was a youth, and there was yours and there was mine alright
But when we try compare it, we'll just end up in a fight
And you would only rest upon his shoulder in belief he's in the right

I see but I can't believe, touch but I can't feel
I hear you but know you reflect a world I never knew
Is there a meaning with demi-gods cleaning
the sight of a street daily walked on?

I want you to show me so that I can show you
Glad that I found you but sad that you're still to find me
Your anthems are off-tune, to please the content loon
On monday reset, proceed careless

I thought among the others you were not an easily led
Perhaps you never understood a single word I said
It's easy to suspect the ones who never tried to get to your bed

You never really knew what I was up to
Never took my word for it when hearing about my world
But if you ever should remember one thing, then remember this:
You're in there too
Have you ever caught a baby trying to peek under you skirt?
Well, that is what will happen as he tells how it will hurt
And cheers to drink his summer from an hourglass for grand dessert

Show me that you are the angel you try hard to look like
Get down from that white horse, noone sees you when you hitch-hike
City gents complain how they'll never play the parlours of their scorn

They've made all the clubs, drunk all your drinks, wet all your loo seats
There, a script to which you can apply to be extolled
And for once a truth his guru cashed in on when coining our youth

Quit pretending you care to feel what's beside good looks
You don't want it for real; good measure applies from books
Well, I'll say it straight to your faces; indeed, you're all vouge sore kooks

So, have you got the mind enough to think outside the box?
And have you got the heart enough to rise above the rocks?
I bet you think I preach as well, but then you're wrong, I'm just like you

Dawn feeds a beauty in a world noone cared for
Noon deals with all things woe and cried at by your cross
Evening assures you that we're bound to keep trying
Night comes on down just to hide your every tear

So, I couldn't bear to leave you here
only to conceal your life
There's a world still to be mirrored in the poet's lines
where all is revealed, where truth is for real
Where all can concieve of what we really think and feel

So, will you come or will you stay by that preacher?
Stay by the sorrow and listen to his fears?
Or finally tomorrow find truth in all these tears?
